#LifeInUnilag: Unilag undergraduate launches book purchase and delivery service. Check it out!

A new book purchase and delivery service has been launched in Lagos. The service called Streem was borne out of the need to help parents solve the difficulties they face in searching endlessly for books and school textbooks for their children and wards.

Streem was established by an Economics undergraduate at the University of Lagos, Tejumade Adeyinka to meet the needs of busy mums and professionals who will prefer to have a textbooks and inspirational books delivered at their doorsteps. According to Tejumade,

‘‘Streem is available mainly for the purchase and delivery of textbooks for children in primary and secondary schools. However, the service benefits busy professionals, the elderly, all sorts of people as bespoke orders are accepted’’.

On how Streem’s services works, Tejumade remarked thus,

‘‘Customers are expected to send a message to streemng@gmail.com complete with a list of books they would like to purchase. They are sent an invoice based on the price list that we currently have. After approval, we agree on a delivery location as well as a mode of payment- which can be either cash on delivery, online transfer, full payment before delivery or half payment before delivery’’

Speaking on what motivated the establishment of Streem, Tejumade who runs the service with business partner Sunkanmi Aladenaye said,

’When I was in secondary school, I was usually given a list of books to be used at the beginning of a new session and my mom had all the time in the world to look for ways to purchase these books from several bookstores. Some of my classmates were not so lucky. Right now, every parent is on the move and one hardly has a stay-at-home mom or dad anymore. We recognize this and we want to bring to parents a fast and convenient way to purchase books for their children and have these books delivered at their doorsteps’’
