#LifeInUnilag: UNILAG Muslim alumni hold pre-Ramadan lecture this Sunday

The 22nd pre-Ramadan lecture of the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni (UMA) will hold on Sunday at the main auditorium of the university.


According to the chairman of the organising committee, Dr Saheed Ahmad Rufai, the lecture with the topic “The Muslim: Between the idea and the Contemporary Perception” will have Professor Yusef Waghid of the Department of Education Policy Studies, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, as the English speaker, while Sheikh Muhammad Rabiu Adebayo Abdul-Malik, founder and director of Darul-Ifta’wan-Najaat Arabic School, Oworonshoki, Lagos State, will address the audience in Yoruba language.
According to him, the lectures will afford Muslims and non-Muslims alike to learn more about the religion and clear misconceptions.
The vice chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Rahmon Bello, will be the chief host of the event to be chaired by Mr Tijani Tunde Folawiyo.
Rufai said that the event would feature presentation of scholarship awards to postgraduate students.
