Female UNILAG student dies after allegedly ‘going out with a man’

A 100-level student of Chemistry, Education has died after allegedly going out with an unidentified man last week.

The female student identified as Temitope Omolara was said to have returned to the campus after the outing feeling sick, with her friends reporting that she was seen vomiting on a number of occasions.
Temitope was said to have finally died at an undisclosed hospital outside the campus on Thursday. Her remains were buried on Friday.
Details of the circumstances leading to her death still remain fuzzy. The university authority, Sunday evening, reacted to a tweet, which alleged that the student had died at the university’s medical centre.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr Toyin Adebule, also discredited claims in the tweet that the school had ejected some students from their halls of residence in connection with the incident.
The statement read: “Information available so far indicates that she called someone (some say, relations, others say male) to come and pick her from the hall. Later information filtered into the hall on Friday that she had died.
“I wish to state that the story about the Medical Centre is false. Definitely, the incident did not happen in the medical centre contrary to the claim in the Twitter massage.
“Lastly, there is no formal report from the hall to the DSA on the incident. Therefore, no action could have been taken to eject the bonafide student as claimed.
“Let me state categorically here that no student has been ejected from the hall over this matter. At this moment our thoughts are with the family.”

Sulcata Entertainment superstar BRAINEE a.k.a Mr.Onetime who mesmerized us with the superb #OnetimeMixtape mid 2016,releases the video to his emotional slow tempo track titled ONE CHANCE.

BRAINEE practically narrates to us a story of how a particular girl was all lovey-dovey only for him to realise she was playing him all the whole time and he likened this to the KIDNAPPING ACT BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTERS IN NIGERIA also know as ONE CHANCE.
The video to the song with unique renditions from the first verse in which he sang, to the hook, to Mafion’s beautiful solo then Brainee’s usual unique rap verse was directed by fast rising Walinteen Pro (@walinteenpro).

Nike’s Valentine

The phone rang. Nike hurried to get it. It was Valentine’s Day. As she made the dash from the kitchen to the sitting room of her posh three bedroom flat, she could not but wonder who it was. She searched around for where the phone’s sound was coming from. “Femi” she said aloud as she stared at the caller id. She wasn’t sure if she was supposed to be excited or surprised. It was two weeks since their argument and the way it had ended, it looked like it was the end. “Hello” she said as she answered the call. She didn’t want to sound too excited. “I am downstairs” he said. She scoffed, “No greeting” she wondered. “Okay?” She said, trying to sound like she did not care. “Come downstairs” he replied. That was Femi, he was the most arrogant young man she had ever come across. “Okay, I am coming”, she replied. Putting the phone down, she went to the kitchen to put down the dinner she was making. She had to admit, she was very scared, she wasn’t sure what he was here for. The thing was that with Femi, one could never be so sure. After that little issue that he managed to blow out of proportion, and all other issues he always managed to create a quarrel out of. “Maybe he has come here to end things” she said to herself. “But why today?” “Lord, no. Not when my mates are receiving valentine gifts, I can’t be getting a breakup.” She said a silent prayer as she made her way down the stairs.

Life In Unilag (LIU) is 1!

Yaaaay! One whole year of awesomeness is marked!

This time last year, we were all up on our feet as we planned the launch of LIU which held at Jekaplay,in New Hall.

Today, we can boast to be one of the best online platforms in the University of Lagos with a very wide audience who are also very supportive.

Yes, we also launched our own clothing line! Chic yeah?

So from every member of the team, we have something to say;

Towards the end of 2015, Steevane spoke to me about the idea of building a platform that covers the happenings in Unilag. It looked to me like a dream that would take very long to realise but to my utter amazement, that dream came alive less than 2 months after, exactly a year ago. Working for the platform, Life in Unilag, has been totally amazing. And I look forward to the many things we would keep doing. I want to use this medium to appreciate the audience we have been able to garner in the past year. I look forward to seeing more of you guys😊. Cheers!

Being a part of LIU has been great. I’m glad I saw the post on IG about someone who isn’t camera shy and I’m glad I decided to reply that day. I’ve met and become friends with these amazing, honest, crazy, dedicated and creative people. I’ve learnt quite a few things that I think will help me to be a bit more productive.

Thank you for being a part of our loyal audience and for taking time to read our blog posts, May you not be stale on the gists and happenings in Unilag again. LIU promises to constantly improve on our services to keep you informed, updated and entertained.

We had just resumed for the session and I got to know about life in Unilag. Heard they needed volunteers or something like that for the launch.I liked the whole idea and opted to join.

I initially thought it was going to be a one day thing but somehow, it extended. It’s not been all smooth, sometimes we’d call for a meeting and people won’t show up, some left and some joined. Our countless arguments 😂…but never fights.

It’s been worth it 😬.

We’d like to appreciate everyone following us on our various platforms. Thank you for believing. We’re sorry if we haven’t reposted your pictures 😁.Many pictures coming in, we just have to pick some lol

When I joined LIU I was merely looking for a platform asides from my blog to write and post fashion articles. I never expected to get so attached… I never envisioned us growing into this…

It started with a dream. I can only give all thanks to God and commend the great team for sticking together and getting us this far. Thanks to everyone who follows the platform on social media and all our blog readers. Big appreciation to all the brands and individuals that have also showed us support in the past year, plus those who trusted us to publicise their products/services/events, You rock!

Life In Unilag!!
I can’t help but scream as I type this. So much emotions engulfed in me. I’ve never regretted being on the LIU team. Life in Unilag is a platform for everything which occurs in Unilag, from gists, information etc. How did I become a member of the amazing team? Well, it was a process. I met with Steevane and learnt of his idea about LIU. I decided to become part of it because I knew that it was something great. I met wonderful people, some who stayed, some who left. I learnt more about blogging and about team work. Tbh, it wasn’t as easy as it seems – Meetings sometimes even when it wasn’t too convenient but you just have to show up etc. And yesterday was our anniversary! It is really worth celebrating LIU. And I urge everyone to be part of it.
